Is dairy an important part of a healthy lifestyle?

I consume 3 servings of dairy in the first half of my day, and none later on. Is dairy important to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

  1. very important for the calicum your body needs
  2. Not dairy as such but calcium is, and it's hard to comsume enough calcium without dairy. Three servings per day sounds perect and is deffinately an important part of being healthy. Don't listen to anyone who tells you it's fattening, because it's so beneficial and I promise you it would do your body no favours to cut it down. Keep up the good work. X
  3. yes
  4. Yes. Very important. Strong bones and helps you grow.
  5. yes, dairy is a very important part of a healthy balanced diet. but you don't need to overdo it. Just 2 glasses of milk, a yogurt, even ice cream would be fine. Hope this helped =)
  6. yes but no. i had to go on a special where i had no dairy at all for 2 whole months it didn't effect me in the slightest. Apart from my nails splitting and cracking. i would recommend taking dairy of some kind of dairy supplement like soya.
  7. Yes.Diary products are important part of a healthy lifestyle. why? Diary products are essential for strong bones and teeth and for growing body.
  8. If your body can handle dairy, then yes. Your body needs the vitamins and minerals to be fully functional. If your body can't digest dairy too well, then you'll need to consume additional supplements to make sure that you're getting adequate nutrition.
  9. Calcium, not dairy specifically, is what's important to a healthy lifestyle. Many other things have calcium like broccoli, nuts, fish, water, etc. The amounts are smaller though so you'd have to consume a lot more of them to get the calcium that you need, which is why people find it easier to get it through dairy. Our bodies don't actually absorb all the calcium from dairy products very well because of the fat in them; that is why "western" societies actually have the highest rates of osteoperosis, where countries that don't consume dairy products at all but get calcium from other sources, actually have stronger bones and very low rates of this disease.
